Give the Gift of Music!
Let's make another year of music excellence possible.
All together now: let’s raise the funds for scholarships, instruments, and more.
Every gift brings music, and opportunity, to kids. Through top-tier music education, we transform children’s lives and futures, bringing the beauty of music to young minds, to homes, to communities, to stages near and far.
And your holiday support not only enriches the lives of Conservatory and Preparatory students, but also brings our GRIT music program to children in underserved urban communities where they wouldn’t otherwise have the chance to learn music. It’s how, note by note, we’re building a chorus of impact.
Every contribution plays its part:
$25 can cover needed classroom supplies
$50 can cover a music stand
$100 can cover sheet music
$250 can cover a masterclass
$500 can cover a Suzuki parent class
Supporting our programs means supporting top tier music education for kids in our community.
Last year:
Over 15,000 hours of instruction were taught to 700 students
72% of students received a full or partial scholarship
36 Community Concerts were held in venues ranging from libraries to theaters to retirement homes
12 Conservatory students participated in local, national, and international competitions
The faculty teaching these kids are the best of the best—not only do 96% of them have degrees in music, but 76% hold advanced degrees.
We’re giving kids access not only to music but also to a lifetime of opportunities. Quality music education activates minds. It supports families. It nurtures self-worth, civility, and empathy. It prepares children for success. It can be the difference between surviving and thriving.
Project GRIT, one of the three program pillars at Gifted Music School, works to eliminate these socio-economic barriers by bringing world-class music programs into Title I schools. Why is this so important? Because there are more than 76,000 Utah children living in poverty. These children are 5x more likely to drop out of high school, 8x less likely to go to college, and are 20% more likely to be bullied and/or not accepted in peer groups. Their achievements in math and literacy are 3-4 years behind higher-income peers and their adverse childhood experiences are elevated.
Music education makes a tremendous difference for these kids:
- Exposure to music and music education broadens their horizons, literally lifting their average SAT score by a whopping 100 points.
- Their math and language skills jump by over 20%.
- Music education pushes them over the tipping point between academic struggle and academic success.
- In fact, our Conservatory students achieved an incredible 100% college acceptance rate with over $2 Million in scholarships offered to our latest graduating class.
This holiday season, help us spread the joy of music. By donating today, your support will provide life-changing music education to students of all backgrounds. Your contribution this holiday season will make an immediate difference by helping us:
- Offer free music education to 500+ Title 1 school students
- Award over $900,000 in scholarships annually
- Provide 15,000 hours of music education each year
- Support over 50 world-class faculty members
Every child, regardless of household income, should have access to world-class music instruction and mentorship. And every gift, no matter the size, makes a meaningful impact. Thank you for your support!
